Conversion of the Kindl-Brewery Rollberg, Berlin Neukölln.
Realarchitektur has developed and designed the conversion of a listed brewery originally built in 1929. The Building is located on top of the Rollberg hill in the centre of Berlin and housed the Kindl brewery up until 2005. The new owners are now developing the area in which this building forms the focal point.
The former brewery is developed to house a modern performance and opera theatre as well as galleries, artists studios and residences. In a first phase we converted a part of the building for the beer production area for a young brew master.
The building itself contains some wonderful spaces with extraordinary industrial details. Details and spacial situations are carefully examined and integrated in the new architecture. By adding new staircases, lifts and opening up parts of the façade the great variety of spaces will in future be accessible to the public
